Mariela Garcia has over 22 years of experience in the insurance industry as well as over 20 years in real estate. Her passion for insurance and real estate started at early. During her senior year in high school, she obtained her first job at an independent insurance agency. After graduation, she transitioned to State Farm Insurance where she worked as an insurance producer for over 10 years. In 2000, she also simultaneously began in real estate with Coldwell Banker Real Estate. In 2010, she opened her first independent insurance agency in Greenacres, Florida.
A few years later, she relocated to New York where she was accepted to the NYC Teaching fellows program and received a Masters Degree in Childhood Education with a focus on Bilingual Education from Hunter College in New York City. After teaching in NYC for two years, she moved to North Carolina with her husband Alex to raise their three children. In 2020, they founded Pimentel Garcia Insurance & Tax. A few months later, Mariela and her business partner Brian Mahoney, opened their real estate firm, The Agency at Pimentel Garcia.
An AmeriCorp alumni, Ms. Garcia strongly believes in their mission to unite, to strengthen, make an impact, and lead by example. Both companies were founded to provide their clients with all of their insurance, tax, and real estate needs; but to also empower their clients with knowledge and resources in order to help improve their lives and community.
